"There's a very old saying on Earth: you can't step into the same river twice." He thinks through what Crais is saying, that everything is impermanent, and the only thing that matters is love in the moment. Maybe memories of that love? Still, it is ultimately a fleeting thing.

"Even if you go to the same spot on the bank, at the same time of day, the water is different. The wind is different. Nothing lasts, but the view of the water might be beautiful."
